Type IV (EN 15051/EN17199)
The rotating drum according to the European standard EN 15051 is a frequently published method in scientific literature, yet has not been available on the market for many years. With a brand new construction, Heubach is bringing this device back to the dust testing world. The Type IV can be driven by the same unit as the Type I, II and III.
The Dustmeter Type IV works by the principle of the rotating drum. The test material is filled into the drum, where the rotation causes the material to be lifted and dropped repeatedly. A constant airflow of 38l/min is passed through the drum, carrying airborne particles to the nickel foam filters. The filters are particle size selective and segregate the airborne particles into the inhalable and thoracle fraction according to the European standard EN 481.
